August Fundraiser Focused on Political Activism a Major Success

Our fundraiser entitled Reforming Marijuana Laws Through Political Activism was held on August 28, 2014 at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar in Houston. The event focused on political activism and how to get involved with efforts to reform marijuana laws.

This event was organized in cooperation with: Harris County Young Democrats, Houston Young Republicans, Harris County Libertarian Party, and Marijuana Policy Project. Our speakers were all young activists who are both experienced in the political arena and knowledgeable of marijuana policy.

Overall, roughly 160 people were in attendance. We brought in close to $2,500 in ticket sales and merchandise sales. In addition, we signed up more than 50 new members.
