HOUSTON’S NEW NORML EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PLANS TO FIRE-UP MORE VOTERS in 2018 FOR THE REFORM OF MARIJUANA LAWS IN TEXAS.
The new Executive Director of Houston NORML is LaTonya Whittington, a longtime advocate of medicinal and recreational Cannabis. Diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, an uncontrollable facial nerve condition, she underwent a brain surgery called Microvascular Decompression in 2014, but afterwards still dealt with excruciating pain.
Eventually, only CBD oil provided Mrs. Whittington with a better quality of life, and yes, she was hooked! She later joined the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).
Mrs. Whittington is also a Harris County Precinct Chair Holder, a position that keeps her in touch with legislators and politicians in the Lone Star State. She is looking forward to bringing together all the Texas NORML chapters for the next election, to show strength in numbers–”Divided We Fall, United We Stand.” It’s necessary to achieve a much larger voter turnout at election time by encouraging people to register, and then vote for the lawmakers who are for REPEALING THE PROHIBITION OF CANNABIS.Her plans for 2018 will include:
- Guest Speaker at 1st Houston CANNA-BIZ Convention
- Organizing Houston Hip Hop Concerts
- March on Austin in November with 5000 Veterans
- Author up coming book : T.N., Cannabis Helps!
LaTonya Whittington is the first black woman to be executive director of Houston NORML. She is passionate, energetic, and hard working, clearly dedicated to making possible what seems impossible.
